Way Ahead newsletter

Way Ahead cover

A quarterly newsletter for health professionals working with people who have MS.

We believe that people with MS should have access to trained health care professionals such as MS specialist nurses and therapists. Way Ahead is a unique magazine providing a quarterly digest of:

  • information on best practice in MS management
  • MS research updates
  • the latest treatments and services
  • educational courses and conferences
  • articles specially commissioned by the MS Trust

With the right specialist education and understanding health and social care professionals are able to spot critical changes and tease out the underlying causes of apparent developments in symptoms, and so care for people with MS better. Way Ahead is aimed at improving the understanding and management of MS and filling the gaps in specialist knowledge.

We send out nearly 5,000 copies of Way Ahead every quarter. Each copy costs us £2.75 to produce. A donation of £22 would cover the cost of a year's subscription to Way Ahead for two health professionals.

Here are some of the things health professionals have said about Way Ahead...

I feel it helps to keep me up to date with relevant research and aware of how other professions are developing to support people with MS. I'm more aware of what other support is available for people with MS and can signpost/refer.

Way Ahead keeps me focussed on the complexities of MS and keeps me up-to-date with new research and service developments.

Way Ahead affected my outlook on the disease as it represents all of the progress being made to fight it. I feel more positive advising about adapting to the future with such a large and informative body of evidence behind me.

I really like finding out what else is happening and it stimulates reflection about my own practice.

I always read Way Ahead and often get inspired by the articles to change my practice or to look into new ways of doing things. The articles often make me reflect on how and why I do things with the service users I work with (MS).

I think this is a very user-friendly newsletter for those directly and indirectly involved in the management of people with MS.
