A tribute to my brother Christopher Wright
Julie Smith from Gosforth had a fabulous night on Friday 28 September. She invited 40 girlfriends to wine and supper.
The evening was a fantastic success, with a tombola which raised £170 alone. A lot of the guests donated £10 on the door and after costs for food and wine the profit was £351.
"We had tremendous food and a lot of goodwill and understanding was generated by just a quick speech about the MS Trust and the wonderful work you do.
"My two sons were wine waiters, our neighbour was the barman and another chief treasurer. Nearly all my neighbours in the cul de sac attended and many friends arrived bearing gifts of food and wine.
"I would be so grateful if this donation could be made in my brothers name - Christopher Wright. He battled very courageously with MS for 16 years before becoming completely immobilised including losing his movement, speech and ability to eat. He died in 1999 and I was diagnosed 3 months later so I have a very brave role model to follow." Julie
