Debbie's sponsored headshave

Debbie Fieldhouse did a sponsored parachute jump for the MS Trust in 2008. Taking on what some might consider to be an even bigger sponsored challenge, she decided to shave her head in September 2009, raising £675 for the MS Trust in the process!

Debbie explains why she supports the MS Trust, "I started fundraising for MS because my friend Alex's mum was trekking across Peru for MS in 2007, in aid of her close friend who was diagnosed with the disease. Alex and I became involved with the fundraising doing a sponsored walk and helping with other smaller events.

"I wasn't really aware of MS and how the symptoms can dramatically turn the lives of those diagnosed upside-down. It's only in the last few years I've realised how many people around me had been affected in some way, either themselves or a family member.

"I was struggling to think of something more extreme than jumping out of a plane but then I came up with shaving my head. I really like my hair and don't particularly want to lose it all, but everyone has their price."

The MS Trust would like to say a big thank you to Debbie for all the money she has raised, which will make a real difference for people living with MS.
