Daredevil Doris does it again!
Thrill-seeking 84-year-old grandmother completes a sponsored wing walk for the MS Trust.
Following a parachute jump in 2007, and loop-the-loop aerobatics in 2008, courageous MS Trust fundraiser Doris Ireland decided on a sponsored wing walk for her 2009 challenge.
Doris headed back to her home county of Essex for her wing walk, which took place at Damyns Hall airfield in Upminster. Doris, who remained calm and relaxed throughout the whole experience, was supported by a team of family and friends who came to cheer her on. Doris began fundraising for the MS Trust after her daughter Sandra, who had multiple sclerosis, died aged 57. Another daughter, Linda, has since been diagnosed with the condition.
Doris says of her experience: "It went absolutely brilliantly. The whole thing was out of this world; it's something I would recommend to anyone. The worst part was when we turned or got some turbulence, then I was thinking 'oh my god!' I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me. I'm just short of raising £2,000 and people can still sponsor me via the MS Trust."
Doris is determined to continue with her fearless fundraising and said after the wing walk, "I've got something planned for next year but you'll have to watch this space!"
